As a Payroll Manager, you will oversee the daily operations for producing, reconciling, and distributing pay for United States, Puerto Rico, and Canadian employees. You will lead a team of Payroll Specialists to ensure we are meeting all regulations, and process payroll timely and accurately You will play a key role in the account reconciliation process, always operating with a continuous improvement mindset. Utilizing your can-do, go-getter attitude, you’ll use critical thinking skills and draw on your industry expertise to meet deadlines, and get the job done. This role is primarily remote; however, there could be times where work in Battle Creek, MI is needed.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


  • Process Improvement –
    Review and adapt departmental plans and priorities to address any resource or operational challenges. Recommend and implement modifications to existing corporate policies, to address challenges and ensure compliance
  • Payroll Acumen – On a daily and weekly basis, you will be responsible for producing and reviewing payroll related general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring employee payroll records are accurate for 13 US based plants as well as hourly and salaried employees in the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada
  • Leading and Developing People – You will lead a team of Payroll Specialists and will be accountable for oversight of their day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for the management, engagement, and retention of your team including focusing on people development and coaching. You will set direction and guide this team in meeting critical deadlines
  • Collaborate – You will partner with payroll system administrators, tax and compliance, as well as human resources and other key stakeholders to provide expertise and support in regard to payroll matters, solving issues and improving processes


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS


Required:

  • Associates Degree with at least 5-7 years extensive payroll experience, or Bachelors Degree with at least 3-5 years extensive payroll experience.
  • Proven record of managing payroll in a Fortune 500 Company, or for employee populations of >/= 10,000 with multiple legal entities
  • Finance or accounting experience with account reconciliation as a focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally at all levels of the organization, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Extensive payroll software experience; preferably Dayforce
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Ability to think critically, pay attention to detail and employ strong analytical, and decision-making skills
