What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time DIRECT HIRE Line Technician position at Kelly?
Our Manufacturing Client in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Manufacturing Production Line Technician to work at their Carbon Fiber Plant. If this sounds like the right fit for you, read on and apply!
Pay: $20 /hr (Direct Hire/NOT temp!)

Shift: Rotating 12-hour day/overnight shift (also known as the Dupont schedule)
What’s a typical day as Manufacturing Production Line Technician? You’ll be:
- Mixing and adjusting sizing and sulfuric acid bath
- Doffing rolls; tying in lines throughout process
- Loading / unloading creel; cleaning fiber rolls of fuzz and fiber build-up
- Frequent climbing up and down metal stairs throughout a duration of your shift
- Frequent doffing full rolls up to 8 lbs. which require bending, stooping, kneeling
- Tying end on rolls with frequent overhead hand position(s) throughout entire process; tying in/splices broken end lines; stringing up winders.
- Cleaning creel and winding areas, draining and pre-oxidation recirculation screens; checking creel for crossed line, running dividing threads requiring overhead reaching with hands
- Mixing and adjusting Sulfuric Acid, Processing Oil flows; taking PreOx and magnahelic readings; disposing of trash; maintaining furnace balance; adjusting slits; mixing batches of chemical sizing and electrolyte baths; taking sizing bath samples
- Applying transport tags, performing lab testing, plotting and inputing data into computer
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience (required) - recent military service or equivalent schooling may be substituted for manufacturing experience
