What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Kelly?
- Pay: $16/hr
- Temp to perm
- Metals Lab
- Very high end lab equipment and specialty testing
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
The main function of a lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The typical lab technician is expected to use general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis
- Perform sample preparation including but not limited to: aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, liquid rack set up
- Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled
- Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks
- Wash lab glassware to prepare for next day?s samples
- stock lab supplies
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one?s time
- Basic knowledge of the information and techniques for lab testing
- Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years experience required.
