Analytical Lab Tech – Plaquemine, LA
Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Analytical Lab Tech for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Plaquemine, LA. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a KellyOCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. As an Analytical Lab Tech placed with KellyOCG you will be responsible for the following:
Summary:
The Lab Technician works in an analytical lab and analyzes process and product samples utilizing various equipment (Gas Chromatograph, Rheometers, Viscometers, , FTIR pH, etc.). The technician interprets test results and communicates them to the customers via Sample Manager and SAP. The Lab Technician is also responsible for environmental sampling and monitoring of waste treatment systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzes routine samples (both process and product) safely, accurately and efficiently following prescribed procedures
- Reports test result data accurately using the proper media (Sample Manager and SAP).
- Identifies atypical test results and communicates them to lab supervision and operations personnel.
- Applies 5S principles to maintain a clean and safe laboratory.
- Prepares reagents and standard solutions Calibrates equipment as necessary.
- Ensures accuracy of test results using statistical techniques (SPC).
- Working in all environmental conditions
- Able to occasionally lift 50lbs
Knowledge/Skills Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques (volumetric, temperature measurements, etc.).
- Experience with Analytical Disciplines such as Chromatography, Spectroscopy, titrations, and physical property testing.
- Proficient in Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must be capable of applying basic math skills.

- Able to work within an empowered team environment possessing strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others (Safety is a top priority)
- Able to work a 12-hour day shift schedule (including weekends & holidays)
- Able to work overtime to cover plant needs and lab team vacations/absences when needed (including weekends & holidays)
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Current, valid US Driver’s license
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Qualifying Asylee/Refugee).
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Associate’s Degree and with applicable experience
- At least 20 hours of college chemistry
