Land & Title Records Specialist - SMU Minerals Management-Investments
Job Summary:
This temporary three month position will support the digital archiving of SMU’s Minerals Management department’s confidential paper files by organizing, sorting, and scanning their documents that include mineral and royalty deeds, oil and gas leases and contracts.
Job Duties:
- Review and organize department paper files
- Scan the department’s paper files to create electronic documents. Documents include: mineral and royalty deeds, assignments, oil and gas leases, division orders, and regulatory notices for property files
- Index electronic documents created from the scanning of hard copy files
- Review of various legal ownership documents and establishment of mineral and royalty records in the property management system
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferably with a degree in business administration or law
- Three (3) years of work experience is required with experience working within records and contract management
- The preferred candidate may have previously worked at an oil and gas company’s land department, mineral/royalty management company and or a bank's oil and gas trust department
- This position could be a good fit for a professional with experience working with legal documents related to the oil and gas industry
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities:
- Filing, scanning, email, detail oriented, working with confidential materials
- Knowledge of legal documents related to the oil and gas industry
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Outlook and Excel required
- Oil and gas land software preferred
Hourly Pay Rate, Schedule, Work Location
- Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour depending on experience (paid weekly)
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday- 8:30am- 5pm (37.5 hours a week)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Length of assignment- 90days, 3months
- Work Location: SMU-East Campus: Dallas, TX 75206
