What’s a typical day as a Machine Operator? You’ll be:
POSITION SUMMARY Operates various equipment in the metal prep area to feed parts to weld and fabrication
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
- Comply with all Safety guidelines/procedures implemented by the company
- Operate CNC torch tables with minimal assistance.
- Inspect, clean, deburr, and package parts as required by job traveler.
- Make tooling offset changes as needed to ensure part quality.
- Perform tool and insert changes.
- Inspect all tooling before use as required for good quality.
- Perform change over and set ups on repeat production parts.
- Complete First Piece Inspection sheet on new setups as required.
- Complete Operator TPM and 5-S checks daily.
- Perform machine adjustments, and minor maintenance and lubrication.
- Learn from other senior operators and begin to develop trouble-shooting skills.
- Keep machines in good repair.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Machine Tool Technology training or 0 – 2 years of related experience
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required: Machine Tool Technology plus 1 year related experience or 3 years related experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
Work surfaces may include concrete.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
Other __Exposure to fumes, oils/solvents, vibration and moisture.
