What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Kelly?
Primary Job Function: Provide leadership to Plant Operations by giving direction relative to the procedures and systems that will ensure that the Plant is operating in the most cost effective manner possible. Oversee all daily operations of the plant. They develop processes, using the Company tools that will maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all phases of plant operation
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customer’s expectations
- Manage the input, throughput and output activities using the Company Lean Tools to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Increase production efficiency, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Implement strategies in alignment with Company tools and provide a clear sense of direction
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Support and drive the continuous improvement and lean initiatives of the plant
- Conduct reviews of all annual evaluations for direct and indirect hourly employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications (Preferred)
Specific Experience:
- 5-7 years Superintendent/Plant Manager’s experience
- 10 years Manufacturing environment experience
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Strong team building, decision making and people management skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, project management and leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective problem solving skills
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials.
- Speech and hearing capacity appropriate for frequent person to person and phone based conversations and meetings.
- Ability to move about the plant walking around manufacturing environment hazards.
- Tolerance for wearing protective apparel and devices. Working frequently in a hot, noisy environment.
