What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toolmaker Machinst position at Kelly?
This is a Contract position for about 6-months (through to April 2022 and eligible for Kelly Services Contractor perks such as Medical, Dental, Vision coverage through the ACA compliant healthcare plan.
Pay rate: 25.00 per hour; projected start date is asap. Position will be on site and the contract is through April 2022.
Schedule: This is a full-time (40-hours a week average), 1st shift. Hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:00pm (1/2-hour lunch)
Job duties include:
- The candidate must be able to fabricate and/or repair precision parts, dies to support production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Machining tools, fixtures and die components prior to and after heat treating.
- Must be able to read, review, understand and interpret blueprint specifications for machined and/or fabricated parts with special focus on stamping die components. Competent in use of inspection tools.
- Experience with Master Cam.
- Experience inspecting using measuring tools (mics/calipers, bore gauges, etc.) for size and quality verification based upon specifications
- Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated, as required.
- Operates surface grinders, tool room lathe, turning and mill.
- Performs precise grinding of tooling and uses various gages and micrometers as required
- Troubleshoots and follows-through with solution to problem.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work with hand tools in a safe and efficient manner (complying with 5S/housekeeping standards)
Job requirements:
High School Diploma (or GED) is required.
Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, and sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed; Must be able to wear a mask during shift
Strong Attention to Detail
Min 3-5 years' of experience
Solid experience in operations a variety of manual and some CNC controlled machinery to produce precision parts and components to exact specifications
Ability to review and understand engineering drawings, customer provided part drawings, manuals specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations and set up requirements
Ability to work primarily unsupervised to complete task
• Must be able to work Independently. • Must be a strong Team Player.
- Experience with basic measuring equipment such as calipers or micrometers
- Experience reading and interpreting job instructions and blueprints
- Experience in a smaller production environment **Experience with closely related seal products a plus
