Kelly Services is hiring for a Value Stream Manager for a leading industrial company.
Position: Value Stream Manager
Location: Raymond, MS.
Salary: 90K-95K
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
About: A qualified candidate must be a self-starter that drives a continuous improvement agenda. Must have an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes. The Value-Stream Manager is responsible for increasing the ratio of value to non-value work performed by eliminating waste in the overall value stream from start to finish, for a defined product family while ensuring that the value stream meets or exceeds customer requirements. The value-stream manager is responsible for eliminating waste throughout the whole value stream, often spanning several independent organizations and departments. This position will report to the Plant Manager in Raymond Mississippi with responsibility also to the Vice President, Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Defining the product family by conducting product routing analysis and appropriate groupings
- Increase production, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Ensuring that a current state value stream map is created of the end-to-end value stream(s)
- Conducting fact-based analysis of the current state map(s)
- Preparing an ideal state map showing what the value stream could look like in the long term
- Preparing a future state map that uses lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value in the short to midterm
- Creating a plan to achieve the future state
- Collect and analyze data to find and eliminate places of waste
- Leading the implementation of the plan
- Leading and mobilizing the people inside and outside of the value stream to enable the required changes. (Including customers and suppliers)
- Work with manufacturing management on the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made
- Work with accounting to quantify program costs and value of improvements
Requirements:
- 2-5 years supervisory experience in Manufacturing
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Administration
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Basic computer acumen
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Analytical and decision making abilities
- Mechanical and Electronic troubleshooting skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Superb people skills at both hourly and staff levels
