Buyer/Supply Chain
Crestview Aerospace manufactures complex assemblies and parts for use in various aerospace applications. We offer an integrated manufacturing process that delivers fabricated parts, in-house processing and complex assemblies for both fixed and rotary‐wing aircraft. We serve leading OEMs such as Boeing, Bell, and Northrop Grumman on key programs including CH-47, V-22, and E-2. Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Sources materials, supplies, and services that support operational requirements
- Provide high quality support to internal customers
- Develop and manages effective relationships with suppliers
- Compiles and analyzes data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
- Monitors performance of suppliers and works with Quality team to develop remediation plans
- Develop cost reduction plans for category
- Stays connected to market dynamics and price trends
- Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
- Develops RFQ/RFI's, reviews proposals, negotiates contracts, and select or recommend suppliers
- Will prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages
- Maintains necessary records
- Interact daily with existing and potential suppliers and applicable Crestview Aerospace departments to enhance relationships and resolve constraints
- Represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic, and positive manner
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2/3 years' experience in purchasing in Aerospace or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills (both written and presentation)
- Self-starter that takes initiative with minimal oversight
- Customer Service orientated
- Team player with an ability to multitask on activities that have competing deadlines and priorities
- Exhibit problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Experienced in leading projects and negotiating with suppliers
- Some travel will be required
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
- Epicor experience is preferred
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and flexible hours as required
- Highly developed inter-personal and communication skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels within the business
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to generate, compile, analyze and evaluate facts and data using statistical and research methodologies
- Must have ability to develop professional relationships with management, peers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
Physical Requirements: Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
