Overview
Kemin Industries is hiring a Senior Global Marketing Communications Manager! This person will provide leadership and overall marketing direction for within the department, and to support the company’s strategic goals for the Nutrisurance business unit.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing, directing, planning and coordinating activities including but not limited to marketing projects, special events and trade show activities from conception and development to completion, negotiate contracts, determine ROI on various events, and ensures objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and parameters.
Additionally, you will be responsible for significant project management needs in the areas of marketing, communications, and/or public relations. They are responsible for researching, developing, implementing and measuring tactics related to departmental projects, and are responsible for discovering and evaluating competitive information and data.
This position is a “hands-on” role and is involved in day-to-day operations. As Senior Global Marketing Communications Manager you will have additional responsibility for personnel direction, oversight, and development. You will also play a key role in helping to develop long-range strategic and budgetary plans.

Responsibilities
- Direct decisions on policies, personnel decisions, salaries, and budget responsibility.
- Independently execute responsibilities and autonomously make decisions.
- Responsible for developing strategy.
- Manage key strategic information, and work collaboratively with a diverse staff team to create, manage, and implement cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies such as product launches, product positioning for new and existing products, and promotional product plans.
- Responsible for developing communication plans for corporate initiatives, including writing content and the execution of press releases, employee communications, and external corporate website material, bulletins, sales/marketing materials and other collateral, presentations, tradeshow materials, articles and trade publications, news releases/announcements, and/or blogs.
- Manage internal and external materials as well as communications which increases marketing effectiveness and help build and create brand and/or product awareness.
- Develop, manage and track projects from conception to conclusion. This includes budgets and strategies, special events, timelines, media and editorial activities.
- Execute related projects such as advertising and promotion activities, communications, PR strategies including, but not limited to, print, point-of-sale, online, electronic/interactive media, and direct mail.
- Research, identify, recommend, and implement new marketing-related technologies and strategies which drive future initiatives.
- Conduct analysis and determine ROI on various department-related efforts.
- Develop internal and external presentations.
- Manage public relations efforts including proofreading, creative, promotional materials, and outreach activities.
- Manage communication plans with outsourced agencies, including promotional activities, print/media, sale, and mail activities.
- Work with media sources including video, audio, print, and digital.
- Manage domestic and international tradeshows.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree/MBA with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or PublicRelations with 5 years of related corporateexperience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations with 7 years of corporate experience
- Minimum of 3 years of previous corporate or agency experience in marketing/advertising, communications, and/or PR. Experience in one of the life sciences is also preferred.
- At least 4 years of website content/management/design experience preferred but not required.
- Advanced PC knowledge with MS Office and/or Graphics software desired.
- Excellent organizational skills and project management skills with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects efficiently in order to meet deadlines.
- A reliable, flexible, self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working under pressure as there is a high level of accountability for one’s work.
- High attention to detail, high accuracy, and analytical abilities.
- Energetic and business-minded with the ability to provide marketing leadership, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and meet timetables.
- Experience as an effective marketing manager, project team player, leader and motivator; and the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with customers, vendors, peers and all levels of management.
- Demonstrated achievement of meeting marketing objectives.
- Strong marketing, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking skills.
- Solid financial skills with the ability to analytically evaluate and understand budget costs.
- Must have a marketing mentality combined with marketing training and experience as it relates to marketing products in the industry, with the ability to gather key information, market data, and to translate into strategic initiatives.
- A high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution, and possession of a distinct sense of urgency.
- The position requires the ability to gather information, take the initiative and make critical decisions.
- Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all aspects, and able to maintain confidentiality and protect intellectual property.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key partners including external agencies, freelancers, media, and technology companies. The role is responsible for building relationships to position Kemin as an advisor and content source for technical and industry issues.
- Solid understanding and practical hands-on knowledge of various forms of interactive media, including but not limited to website enhancements & implementation, program development andexecution, Internet Ratings & Reviews, social networking/online communities, search engine marketing along with a deep understanding of the latest online marketing technologies, techniques and best practices.
- International experience desired.
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and stay on top of latest online technologies, techniques and best practices.
- Up to 25% doemstic and international travel.
