Overview
Kemin is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Specialist who has great communication skills, enjoys working as a team, and has experience in data information systems to join our team in Des Moines!
The Supply Chain Specialist will assist in scheduling production, coordinating shipping and receiving, and monitoring and scheduling raw and finished goods. This position has the opportunity to work with several individuals from Kemin's Operations, Inventory, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure timely receipt of materials.

Responsibilities
- Obtain inventory requirements of raw materials to support production needs
- Understand production schedules so raw materials arrive when needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve all supply chain issues with obtaining raw materials
- Ensure Bill of Material and routing changes are correct
- Coordinate samples for customers and pre-shipment
- Identify and lead implementation of cost improvement projects
- Acquire raw materials which ensure high quality of products and on time delivery
- Ensure supplier corrective actions are executed
- Represent company in supplier and inventory audits
- Tracking of delivery order completions for finished product
- Daily entering and processing of manufacturing order and verifying raw material availability
- Perform adjustments to manufacturing orders
- Must understand and ensure appropriate material safety is in place to meet material requirements
- Adhere to all safety requirements, SOPs, GMPs, and policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain with 1-3 years of related experience or Associates Degree with 3 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience
- Understanding of inventory control systems, computer systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a team environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision making abilities
- Manufacturing or Operations experience high desired
- Forklift experience
- ISO and GMP experience is helpful
- Understanding of material safety requirements
- Travel for this role will consist of 5-10% domestically in or around Des Moines or other North America sites
