Job Summary

The Accreditation and Policy Technician is responsible for assisting the Accreditation and Policy Manager in monitoring and maintaining the Policy Management Program that will house all of the Kenaitze Indian Tribes (the Tribes) policies, procedures, standard work, forms, Charters, Ordinances, and other documents. The Accreditation and Policy Technician monitors document due dates and/or regulatory changes and alerts Accreditation and Policy Manager when documents need to be revised. The Accreditation and Policy Technician will also assist the Accreditation and Policy Manager with survey readiness for the triennial Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF) Survey.

Essential Functions

  • Assists Accreditation and Policy Manager in the following tasks:
  • Providing training on the Policy Management System
  • Monitoring the Policy Management System to ensure that all established system mandates are followed
  • Monitoring all regulatory required documents and alerting the Accreditation and Policy Manager when they are at risk for becoming inactive in the system and/or are not reflect changes imposed by the regulatory bodies
  • Communicates obstacles to Director of Quality, Compliance & Privacy in a timely manner
  • Coordinates and delivers staff education
  • Takes meeting notes and arrange meetings as necessary
  • Must stay current with healthcare regulations and standards Communicates obstacles to the, Compliance & Privacy Manager in a timely manner
  • Seeks out additional learning opportunities to continue to develop the technical and professional skills needed

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree in a Healthcare or Business related field, or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree

Experience

  • One (1) year of clerical experience in healthcare
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance or quality improvement
  • Experience participating in survey processes

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities

License/Certification

  • Must have a valid Alaska State Driver's License and remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or obtain a waiver.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain within 90 days of hire.

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
