What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMM Programmer position at Kendrick Plastics?
This position is responsible for all CMM programming and operations performed on CMM's to support launch and current production activities. Responsible to lead other CMM operators in meeting department goals.
Main Responsibilities
Manage Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and functions by prioritizing and scheduling required for laboratory work,
Maintain a log of work performed to advise Management of effective utilization of CMM, devising programs & methods to measure part dimensions and troubleshooting measurement problems.
Coordinate metrology studies per AIAG MSA guidelines.
Maintain Calibration Recall System keeping inspection fixture calibration status and product annual dimensional validation current.
Design and construct measurement tools by assessing measurement requirements; analyzing the cause of unfavorable gauge error; correcting defective gauges and fixtures; drawing blueprints for gauge construction; consulting and advising the Tooling Department about gauge designs, expectations, and construction,
Assist Tooling personnel with the construction of the measurement devices; and fabricating simple fixtures and gauges
Follow organizational standards.
Provide training to other employees when necessary.
Follow all safety guidelines established by the facility.
All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Experience with Hexagon Global S 12.15.10 CMM or equivalent CMM
- Experience with laser scanning a plus
- Familiar with PC-DMIS CMM software and Data Page Suite
- Familiar with reading blueprints, calipers, micrometers, gauging blocks, etc.
- Minimum two years of experience in the engineering, quality, or manufacturing field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- TS-16949/ISO-14001 knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of statistical tools/concepts
- 2 years of the gauging and metrology experience
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Knowledge of coordinating measuring machines systems and functions
- SPC Training
- MSA Guidelines
