Kennebec Pharmacy & Home Care has an immediate opening for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician. This position is Monday-Thursday 8-5, Saturday and Sunday 8-12. We offer competitive pay, benefits and generous paid time off.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Technician performs clerical and technical tasks in the processing, preparation, delivery, procurement, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals within the pharmacy under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist for Senior Care patients at contracted Assisted Living facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Assists the pharmacist in the preparation and processing of prescriptions; ensuring all packaging of medications is verified by the pharmacist.
•    Enters patient and prescription data into the computer, operates TCGRx equipment to package patient prescriptions; fills punch cards as needed, checks, labels, and packs orders.
•    Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data into computer.
•    Refers clinical questions/problems to the pharmacist.
•    Receives and stores incoming supplies, counts stock and enters data into computer to maintain inventory records, and removes outdated stock from shelves.
•    Cleans equipment according to prescribed methods.
•    Complies with state and federal laws.
•    Promotes KPHC services and products to the customer.
•    Maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
•    Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
•    Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
•    High School graduate or equivalent.
•    Must be able to acquire and maintain a Maine Pharmacy Technician registration.
•    Excellent computer/data entry skills.
•    Possess the following personal traits: Accuracy, Adaptability, Continual Learning, Dependability, Detail Orientation, Following Directions, Multitasking, Mathematical Proficiency, Organizational Skills, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Verbal Communication.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None assigned

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standard retail environment with minimal noise levels. May include lifting moderately heavy boxes. Involves prolonged standing/walking approximately 100% of shift.
