What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil/Pipeline Engineer position at Kennedy Jenks?

We are looking for a dynamic Civil/Pipeline Engineer to join our growing team. This person will be a part of the Civil Group and will work on the design for a variety of Water, Wastewater and Environmental projects both locally and nationally.
What you’ll be doing: You will be a leader on the team who provides unsurpassed client service. You will be responsible for leading the Civil design on projects, interdisciplinary coordination, assisting or managing projects from the planning phase through construction and engaging with clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing complete and concise plans and specifications for various projects
- Coordinating with subconsultants such as Geotechnical or Survey Consultants
- Managing task schedules and budgets
- Maintaining quality control
- Supporting clients and Construction Managers during the construction phase
- Supporting or developing competitive proposals
- Writing technical memorandums and reports
- Mentoring and training junior staff within the Civil Group
- Some travel to project sites, for client visits/meetings and to other Kennedy Jenks offices may be necessary.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Civil Engineering, or similar engineering field
- PE license in California
- 5 years of relevant experience
- We are a multidisciplinary firm looking for interdisciplinary coordination skills.
- Foundational knowledge in site layout, grading and drainage, and pipeline/yard piping design on projects ranging in size and complexity and an ability to grow this foundational knowledge. Project experience does not need to be in the Water, Wastewater or Environmental industries.
- Proficiency using Autodesk C3D is a plus; however, ability to clearly communicate and coordinate with a C3D designer is more important.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active involvement with technical writing. We write technical memorandums, design reports, and proposals that must clearly convey project approach, intent, design considerations, alternatives, and recommended solutions.
- Project management exposure either through assisting a project manager or directly managing projects
- Experience or willingness to learn business development and client service. We’re looking for people who are ready to grow their skills to develop new business relationships

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $74,600 to $110,600, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, licensure/certifications, seniority, geographic location, and performance.
