We are looking for an exceptional Process Piping and Building Mechanical Senior CAD Technician to join our multidisciplinary team. This person will be a part of the CAD Team and will work on the design and delivery of a variety of projects both locally and nationally.
What you will do: As part of our team, you will use your drafting and 3D modeling experience to support Mechanical engineering solutions to the firm’s municipal and industrial clients. Typical projects include facilities relating to water, wastewater, and recycled water.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create 2D layouts and 3D models from engineer’s sketches using advanced CAD/BIM applications.
- Serve as CAD Lead on small to mid-sized projects.
- Develop broad knowledge and skills within the Mechanical discipline.
- Understand and adhere to company or client standards.
- Ability to work in a ProjectWise environment.
- Address red-line markups provided by designers and engineers.
- Perform detailed work thoroughly, neatly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Communicate with designers and engineers regarding task execution.
- Coordinate small to mid-sized projects with other engineering disciplines.
- Work in a project team environment.
- Ability to back-check own work prior to delivery to our internal clients.
- Mentor team members on Design Delivery workflow and best practices.
- Review the work of others when needed prior to delivery to an internal client.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- At least 5 years of experience with drafting and design-related software including AutoCAD and Revit. A minimum of 2 years of experience using Revit is required. MicroStation and Bentley OpenPlant are a plus.
- Experience drawing Mechanical piping and equipment systems.
- Ability to use ProjectWise, Bluebeam REVU, and Microsoft Products.
- Capacity to interact professionally with project teams both internally and externally in a positive and proactive manner.
- Self-motivated and eager learner, with the capacity to grow and develop within the team.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings.
- Strong verbal, writing, editing, and research skills.
- High attention to detail, meticulous, and focused on quality.
