What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revit Designer position at Kennedy Jenks?
We are looking for a dynamic Revit Designer for our multidisciplinary team. This person will be a part of the Design Delivery Team supporting a variety of projects both locally and nationally.
What you will do:
As part of our team, you will use your drafting and 3D modeling experience to support engineering solutions for the firm’s municipal and industrial clients. Typical projects include facilities relating to water, wastewater, and recycled water.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create 3D models and layouts from design concepts and engineer’s sketches with minimal oversight using Revit 2020 and higher.
- Lead multiple, large, and/or complex projects with other engineering disciplines to assist in the delivery of construction documents meeting scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ability to communicate directly with internal and external clients on designs as needed.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles including Process Mechanical, Building Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, or Electrical design.
- Perform engineering calculations, research vendor data, and check for code compliance.
- Identify conflicts in design and communicate solutions with project engineers and PMs.
- Mentor and educate team members on Design Delivery workflow and best practices in Revit.
- Develop/provide input on project production timelines, schedules, and budgets.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Assist with QC and/or Constructability Review.
- Serve as BIM Lead on projects.
What you will need:
- At least 10 years of experience with drafting and design-related software including AutoCAD and Revit. A minimum of 5 years of experience using Revit is required. MicroStation and Bentley OpenPlant are a plus.
- Ability to use ProjectWise, Bluebeam REVU, BIM360 and Microsoft Products.
- Capacity to interact, collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinary project teams in a positive and proactive manner.
- Self-motivated and eager learner, with the capacity to grow and develop within the team.
- Strong verbal, writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings.
- High attention to detail, meticulous, and focused on quality.
