Kennedy Valve Co. is a gray and ductile iron foundry and computerized machining and assembly operation. We supply fire hydrants and valves to the water works and fire suppression industries. We have been manufacturing these products in Elmira, New York, for over 125 years.

SUMMARY
This is a physical position and often requires repetitive lifting of smaller products (up to 50 lbs.), assisted lifting of heavier products, standing for extended periods, walking within cell, maneuvering for bending, twisting, and lifting arms overhead. Standard safety gear is required, safety boots, ear plugs, safety glasses and other as determined. The environment can be cold based on activity in the plant (overhead doors opening) and extremely hot depending on outside temperature, and equipment operations.
JOB DUTIES
- Make molds using sand and through the use of patterns.
- Ability to manage grinder unit and proper maneuvering of product.
- Ability to perform essential requirements of job.
- Safe operations including all safety gear.
- Must be dependable.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ged or diploma
- Ability to read, write, conduct basic arithmetic.
- Manufacturing experience in heavy manufacturing [preferred]
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- Ability to tolerate standing for extended periods.
- Ability to tolerate safe levels of noise, heat, dust and cold.
- Comfortable with repetitive motion and work
