We are currently searching for a CPO in the following locations: London, KY, Louisville KY and Bloomington, IN. This is an exceptional opportunity in great location with a growing company. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
Position Summary : This position is responsible for managing comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic patient care which includes patient assessment, formulation of treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, and follow-up.
Essential Job Duties:
- Patient care and interaction
- Assessment of patients impairment and musculoskeletal abnormalities
- Formulation of a treatment plan to design an intervention to alleviate limitations and enhance function
- Implementation of the treatment plan which includes formulation and design of devices, material selection, fabrication, and prototype development.
- Perform fitting, adjustments and alignments, as well as patient training
- Follow-up of treatment plan to ensure successful outcomes, patient health and quality of life which includes documentation of changes, modifications, reassessment of expectations and objectives, development of long term treatment plan, and confirmation of education and instruction.
- Compliance with practice policies, laws, regulations, safety, and patient care
- Develop and maintain business relationships, obtain referrals
Skills/Qualifications/Work Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in prosthetics or orthotics, or foreign equivalent, or
- Current board certification or board eligible in Prosthetics or Orthotics (i.e. American Board Certified – ABC)/ LPO, CPO, or CO credentials
- Must have successfully completed the NCOPE residency
- Demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic/orthotic services under the supervision of a certified practitioner preferred
- Thorough understanding of the principles of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology
- Thorough understanding of components and suitability and reliability for specific uses
- Thorough understanding of medical terminology
- Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentation and reports to patient and staff
- Ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers on objectives of patient care services
- Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence
- Ability to assess patient condition and advise physician on treatment options
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists and patients
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Effective organizational, time management and planning skills
