Are you passionate about turning ideas into reality? We're looking for a Design Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member, you'll collaborate directly with customers, creating designs and products that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop new products for manufacturing based on customer requirements.
• Use design software for drafting and illustrating to satisfy documentation requirements for production, contract, or development needs.
• Prepare new/improved product & component drawings and coordinate related support documents (standard work, BOM, inspection checklists, etc.) for manufacturing.
• Work directly with Sales, Design and Production teams.
• Perform on-site patterning, test fit verifications and first article performance verifications, as necessary.
• Improve existing products and processes by completing Engineer Change Requests and other improvement activities.
• Develop “hands-on” experience with production equipment to understand production capabilities.
• Research new designs and methods to enhance or improve existing products and technologies.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests to evaluate performance of new designs, as directed.
• Research, identify, and source materials for prototype and product production.
• Facilitate the transition of new product designs to production.
• Adhere to Kennon’s Quality Management System.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will offer a combination of production-related practical experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to effectively collaborate as part of a team.
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Design or Drafting, or equivalent preferred;
• 2 years experience in product development in a manufacturing environment preferred;
• Proficiency with CAD software;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Limited travel may be required;
• Physical strength and agility required: bending, twisting, standing, squatting or sitting for long periods, lifting up to 30pounds from the floor to a table, manipulating materials, and working with various equipment.
