The Pipe Welder/Mechanic Technician is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks as part of a team to ensure safe, productive, reliable, and cost-efficient maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. In addition, these positions provide field-level support for reliability efforts, innovation, and continuous improvement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all Kensing corporate safety culture and procedures.
- Does pipe fitting and welding work.
- Complete preventive maintenance work and provide feedback on any issues.
- Performs scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency repairs of production equipment as needed, including callouts.
o Rebuilding mechanical drives.
o Precision alignment of rotating shafts.
o Overhaul and installation of pumps, agitators, compressors, and blowers.
o Performs general mechanic tasks including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Performs laser alignment of rotating equipment.
- Performs troubleshooting of equipment failures and participates in root-cause investigations of major or repetitive equipment issues.
- Perform all the necessary installation inspections and quality checks on new rotating equipment installations.
- Works on plant modifications, expenses, and capital.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) components of chemical production processes.
- Follow the SAP workflow process required for technician craft.
Qualifications
- 5 years of related maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
- 3 years of Pipe fitting and welding experience.
- High School diploma schools accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Maintain American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification. GTAW, SMAW
- Familiarity with Precision maintenance practices.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Capability to perform basic mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and minor algebra.
- Prior SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting experience.
- Prior experience with Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Condition Monitoring programs with exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
- Demonstrate competency of Microsoft Office products.
