Parts Counter Sales Trainee (Part-time)

As a NAPA Parts Counter Sales Trainee, you're the welcoming face to our customers who rely on top-notch service for all of their automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear a motor down and rebuild it (however, if you can, that’s awesome) – but we do need you to have a basic background and knowledge of automotive parts.

What you will be doing:

• This entry-level position will have you developing skills to provide great service to both retail and wholesale customers, in person at the counter, or over the phone.
• Developing parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering questions for customers
• Providing outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who comes into our NAPA Store!
• Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores
• Welcome retail customers into our retail stores and engage to provide a positive consumer experience
• Use technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system
• When the need arises, you will be asked to deliver auto parts to wholesale customers.

• Genuinely enjoy helping our retail and wholesale customers with their auto parts and service questions
• Have gained your parts experience by working in the automotive industry or by tinkering with/repairing cars and trucks through the years.
• You are willing to learn all things automotive if you don’t have the background in automotive parts.

What you’ll need:

• Minimum 18 years of age and a Valid Driver’s License
• A willingness to learn all things auto parts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with excellent listening skills and empathy for customers

And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don’t):

• Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
• Experience in a parts store, retail store, or auto body/collision center.
• Knowledge of cataloging AND/OR inventory management systems
• Entirely customer-centric (external/internal)

• Mondays: 8:00pm-5:00pm
• Tuesdays: 12:00pm-5:00pm
• Wednesdays: 12:00pm-5:00pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
