Summary:
To act as a consultant and resource person to administrators, teachers, parents and students in all areas related to school health programs and to work cooperatively with school personnel in maintaining a healthy and safe school environment for students and staff.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required.
Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan preferred
Ability to attain school nurse certification in the State of Michigan by the state board of education preferred.
A minimum of one to three years nursing experience preferred.
CPR/AED for healthcare provider’s certification with hands-on training.
Relate effectively with staff, students, community and parents; work independently; maintain composure in stressful situations.
Experienced in dealing with personal and confidential information.
Ability to perform duties with knowledge of district requirements and policies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritizes work.
