What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Clerk I position at Kent County?
The successful candidate, under limited supervision, reviews and establishes defendant payment schedules for fees ordered by a court as well as assists at the front window with minimal support for probation officers and the personal protection department.
Additional responsibilities include: Ensuring accurate and updated defendant account information is in the system; performing a wide range of bookkeeping duties related to the proper initiation, payment processing, collection and maintenance of defendants accounts; as well as performing complex clerical and accounting duties.
The candidate selected for this position will represent the Court at Order to Show Cause Hearings on delinquent accounts, establish accounts, determine appropriate charges or fees, post transactions and/or prepare typewritten documents for the Court.
