POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you ready to join a four-time US best Managed Company?! KENT Nutrition Group is looking for an Analytical Services Manager to join their team. The Analytical Services Manager will be based in Muscatine, Iowa and is responsible for all laboratory related services related to the Kent Nutrition Group Quality Assurance programs. The position reports to Kent Nutrition Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate, acting as the primary liaison to, third party laboratories conducting analytical services for KNG. Update laboratory database (such as Labsoft) with product information as new products are created or formulas revised, utilizing labels created by formulation team.
Enter assays results as they are published from third parties, regulatory bodies or others. Provide appropriate notification to plant for follow-up when an assay is outside specifications, especially for positive release products. Assist with assay related tasks, associated to State Stop-Sales, market retrievals/recalls, feed safety and customer complaints.
Ensure compliance with Corporate standards and procedures. Report potential feed and food safety issues to Corporate management. Participate in Corporate QA Meetings.
Assist with the internal auditing program by conducting audits at KNG facilities. Lead quality and consistency studies, such as mixer testing projects.
Create/Revise Ingredient Specification sheets.
Complete and submit tonnage tax forms to appropriate regulatory bodies.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science degree required.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical positions within analytical services.
Demonstrate ability to interpret a wide-range of analytical data.
Working knowledge of animal feed manufacturing.
Thorough understanding of cGMP’s related to animal feed manufacturing.
Knowledge of HACCP (or HARPC) principles as they relate to animal feed manufacturing
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft tools, specifically Word and Excel, including PivotTables
Understanding of the KNG Feed and Food Safety Plan preferred.
Successful communication with peers, either in writing or verbally.
Excellent relationship/team building characteristics.
