Description
Taylorsville Lake State Park has a 70-site campground, boat ramps, shelters, and 24 miles of equestrian, mountain biking, and hiking trails. The beautiful landscape and team environment of the staff provide for an enjoyable career within Kentucky State Parks. We are seeking to hire a Full Time Maintenance Superintendent I.

The Maintenance Superintendent I supervises staff in the maintenance department and troubleshoots buildings and grounds issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supervising and directing staff to maintain buildings and grounds
  • Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues
  • Janitorial services
  • Trails maintenance
  • Small and heavy equipment operation
Supervisory experience in buildings and grounds maintenance or four years of performing buildings and grounds maintenance are preferred.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Three years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Will be on call 24 hours a day. Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
