Kercher Enterprises has provided a wide variety of machining, fabricating and assembly contract services since 1946 and is currently seeking an Estimator to join their team.
The machine and fabricated parts Estimator is responsible for reading requirements documents (blueprints), determining material and labor costs and creating quotes for customers.
The ideal candidate will have estimating experience in a machine and fabricated part environment and blueprint reading experience.

Estimator Job Description
- Interface with customers and analyze requirement documents (RFQ’s and customer drawings/blueprints) to gain a thorough understanding of client needs.
- Determine production requirements that will influence the cost of project. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and sales teams as needed.
- Prepare material and labor cost estimates to create accurate and timely quotes.
- Check inventory for needed materials and source and/or order as needed.
- Confirm that all information regarding manufacturing and purchasing of parts is accurate.
- Collaborate with internal team (scheduling & manufacturing) and vendors as required to meet customer deadlines and keep project on track.
- Enter accounts payable invoices into the financial system.
Estimator Requirements
- Experience reading blueprints, CAD drawings and schematics
- Estimating in a machining shop environment
- Knowledge of Excel
- Excellent math skills
- Strong communication and writing skills
