Accountability:
This position reports to the Import/Export Manager and is responsible for supporting Import and Export operations in North America. The Import/Export Lead position is responsible for import compliance, the import databases and serves as the single point of contact for Kerry U.S. Customs brokers. This position will also support the team on special projects related to import/export processes, including onboarding acquisitions, import/export process improvements, and other projects as assigned.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Maintain Import Compliance information and databases
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders daily on import shipments, Customs inquiries, and special projects
- Create and update work instructions as required
- Approve Import-related invoices for payment
- Assist with formal training to work instructions for all employees
- Providing Import/Export support for acquisitions
- Other duties as assigned
- As Required: have accounts assigned and backup accounts as needed
Qualifications and skills
- Working knowledge of U.S. import rules and regulations
- Knowledge of Incoterms (International Commercial Terms)
- Preferred knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture)
- Minimum two years related experience and/or training or equivalent preferred
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to take a leadership role in resolving issues and establishing processes
