JOB SUMMARY
The overall objective and purpose of the Assistant Bar Manager is to assist with overseeing the bar, and to support /assist bartenders and bar backs. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the bar area and ensuring our guests receive a warm and authentic experience. They are to provide inspiring and strategic leadership in support of the mission, core values and goals established by the company.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with coaching opportunities for the bar team to ensure an elevated level of service is provided to guests.
- Assist with maintaining a positive team environment and morale for the bar team.
- Assist with batching to ensure quality and consistent products.
- Assist with developing and maintaining the beverage program.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the spirit room, beer cooler, walk up window, and main bar.
- Assist with ordering liquor, wine, beers, and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Assist with inventory and/or spot checks of inventory.
- Assist with setting pars levels for spirit.
- Assist with training bartender and barbacks
- 40% Maintaining a positive team environment and morale for the bar team
- 20% Bar team training
- 15% Batching and ensuring quality and consistent products
- 10% Coaching opportunities for bar team to ensure consistent product and elevated service
- 5% Maintaining par levels and ordering liquor, wine, beers, and nonalcoholic beverages
- 5% Inventory and spot check
- 5% Beverage development and implementation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques.
- Ability to perform all tasks related to the bartender and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems, and office equipment.
- Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment, and effectively solve problems.
- Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple guests at a time.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals.
- Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades, and percentages.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years of relevant work experience in similar scope- required
- BarSmarts certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
- Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
- Must be able to work safely in a bar and kitchen environment with high temperatures and humidity
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis.
- Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time.
