Position purpose
This primary function of this position is to provide technical support and resolve hardware and software related computer problems. Duties will also include any tasks relating to the IT Department as assigned by the IT Director.
Essential duties, functions & responsibilities:
· Installation, operation and maintenance of computer systems.
· Installs, configures and tests necessary PC software and hardware.
· Installs and tests peripheral equipment such as network printers.
· Establishes and maintains status of Active Directory users and equipment.
· Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
· Provides technical support in implementing, operating, and maintaining communication services and devices.
· Serves as a resource to the staff on matters relating to voice, data, software and other communication needs.
· Maintains and tracks all IT related inventory. Appropriately handles all changes in disposition of IT property including documented destruction of sensitive data.
Network (LAN/WAN) Administration and Support
· Maintains confidentiality and integrity when working with sensitive information available to IT Administrator staff.
· Ensures that security policies are adopted and implemented in order to assure confidentiality by maintaining “least privilege” rules.
· Maintains the internal network and troubleshoots, corrects and reports on all networking problems to the IT Manager.
· Assists with policy and procedure development of Information Technology Policies.
Software/Hardware Administration and Support
· Provides technical support and consultation to Santo Domingo Health Center users and management to achieve the implementation of new applications and the maintenance of existing software.
· As directed by supervisor, develops written long-term and short-term plans for computer services and /or project implementation.
· Provides technical support and maintenance to achieve the implementation of upgraded applications, user files, and installation of network printers.
· As directed by supervisor, researches and analyzes hardware and software options for improvements and/or implementation of new projects. Subsequently provides recommendations to supervisor including recommended hardware/software and suggested implementation.
Other Duties
· Maintains positive participation in all levels of the decision making process.
· Acts as a liaison between users and technical experts for all problems and errors.
· Performs other duties that may be necessary or are in the best interest of the Santo Domingo Health Center.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
· Five years of specialized experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary focus is IT. Specialized experience includes installing, implementing and troubleshooting various arrays of Microsoft Windows platforms; determining relevant hardware, software, connectivity requirements, and information flow; and identifying technical requirements of end-users. Ability to perform tests and interpret functionality of hardware and software. Minimum one year customer service Help Desk experience at level two or higher.
Education:
· Associates Degree or equivalent job experience in computer science, information systems management, or technology management. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Advanced certifications
· Bilingual skills in English and the Keres native language.
