What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Supervisor position at Kewadin Casinos?
The Security Supervisor, under the direction of the Casino Manager or Chief Operating Officer or Security Manager, is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the activities of a Security shift work force. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Supervises, trains, disciplines and evaluates Security Guards.
- Schedules team members, processes payroll and approves leave.
- Provides immediate response to assistance to emergency calls pertaining to customer falls, accidents, fire and evacuation of building.
- Ensures team members comply with Company and department policies and procedures and rules and regulations.
- Informs management of incidents, accidents and pertinent information regarding the Casino facility.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- All other job related duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments and customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds maximum with team or dual lifting and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, manual handling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception and color/field of vision. Working conditions include constant exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, noise, vibration and air quality. Potential hazards include constant exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, high exposed places, chemicals, insecticides/pesticides, infectious exposure, client contact, needles/syringes, computer use, medical equipment and equipment use.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in security or law enforcement related field required.
Certification/License: AED, First Aide, CPR and Pressure Point Trainings required within 6 months of hire; training will be provided. Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of security related field required. Must be able to use word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, supervisors and the general public and customers. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
