POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans, maintains, and organizes raw materials for Press and Weld Departments.

Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors and/or team leaders to determine material requirements, identify overdue materials and to track material. May also need to confer with outside steel vendors to assure correct materials are on site for production.

Examines material delivered to verify conformance to specifications.

Plans and coordinates loading and unloading of raw materials and parts to various work centers. This requires an overall product and workflow knowledge of the Press and Weld department.

Moves or transports materials from one department to another.

Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory with status and location of materials.

Monitors and controls movement of material and parts between departments.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read single component blue prints and one view blue prints of subassemblies involving 6 or less components.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as shop travelers, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before or with groups or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use Standard measuring tapes, and micrometers.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Fork Lift Operators Licenses.
Crane Operator Certified

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Capable of self direction with minimal supervision. Must be able to take direction from the department supervisor and lead persons.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts such as wood cutting saws or abrasive belts. The employee is frequently exposed to dead roller or moving converyors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
