The Innovar Group is searching for a Rockstar product owner for one of our cable/satellite clients. This person will be a key member of the Software Development organization which manages large, innovative and high-visibility programs. The individual in this role will be working with cross functional team and provide requirement updates, as well sprint planning sessions weekly. This is not a typical product owner role – the client is looking for a dynamic personality that can get in the driver’s seat, remove any roadblocks and take any action required to ensure the team is moving forward.

What you will do
- Live, breathe and own the product backlog, features and stories to include detailed acceptance criteria.
- Split, clarify break down and add detail to backlog items
- Maintain focus on product ROI and value
- Consistently express the what and why of a user story always avoiding technical implementation
- Meet with engaged stakeholders for user story creation
- Communicate with business owners, product management and engaged stakeholders in the process and make known impacts and changes to the plan
- Develop in depth product and domain knowledge
- Plan, schedule and communicate release date, content and the basis for these decisions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, readily available to answer questions and support the sprint schedule
- Accept or reject sprint work in review ceremonies
- Ensure the Agile delivery teams always have sprintable stories
- 5 years of Agile product owner experience in a dynamic high-technology environment
- Experience working in an Agile/ Scrum work environment
- Experience with full software development lifecycle
- Modern software development practices and web technologies
- Experience in planning Agile releases and shippable increments
- Demonstrated business and technology acumen
- Ability to effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Strategic, analytical and critical thinking expertise; ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans
- Must possess project/time management proficiency
- Strong cross functional partnership & leadership skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Must live in or near Denver metro area
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required.
- This is a mid-level role with no direct reports
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Competency in product owner tools and basic office programs (Version One, Rally, Jira, MS VSTS)
- Quality assurance or development experience
- Self-motivated – 'find a way to make it better” perspective
- Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines
- Experience with service-oriented environments, and better development practices
- Experience in working effectively with others not fluent in Agile methodologies
