UX + Web Designer

Description

MSPC, the content agency of MSP Communications, is a team of editors, strategists, designers and marketers who create award-winning content for some of the most influential brands in the world. From screen to page, we’re experts at producing content that grabs attention and gets results.

Reporting to the Interactive Design Director, our ideal candidate is educated in the disciplines of User Experience and Web/User Interface Design. The successful candidate will also have worked adjacent to front-end developers. This person is passionate about digital experiences and current on best practices. They work well in teams and can balance their workload across multiple projects and clients.

We work on a wide range of project types, including creative content, digital marketing campaigns, email, web and landing page redesigns, audits and interactive enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Designing prototypes of web pages, sites, landing pages and emails
• Preparing prototypes with interactivity, for review, and/or user testing
• Wireframing
• Making informed user experience recommendations
• Preparing designs for developers
• Auditing existing experiences and content
• Drive the development of user journey maps
• Working with user personas
• Keeping up to date on digital design trends and the prevailing technologies underneath them
• Having a good sense for optimal information architecture and taxonomy
• Everyday design-related production tasks, image editing, asset creation
• Experience with third party interactive design platforms (such as Ceros or Ion) a plus

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in web design or related digital discipline
• 5+ years post-secondary professional experience in a design-related position, agency experience preferred
• Extremely well-organized, resourceful, collaborative, curious, a strong communicator and a self-starter
• Eager to learn new skills and adapt within the creative landscape of client services

• While coding is not a required skill (this is NOT a front-end development position), the right candidate will possess an above average understanding of HTML and related frameworks
• Experienced with at least two prototyping applications such a Sketch, Adobe XD or Axure
