Summary:
The Frozen Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving sales, generating promotional and advertising income, achieving FY department P&L, maintaining run rates, vendor aging and coordinating and working with Store Owners/Members and Vendors.
Job Description:
· Maintain Fiscal Year Budget Objectives including but not limited to sales, promotional income, and vendor participation in company events.
· Meet with vendors and sales representatives to negotiate the best overall sales program for the assigned categories.
· Create weekly Frozen Grocery promotions with competitive feature retails and accurate sales projections.
· Prepare information for bi-weekly committee meetings where weekly promotions, Front Page Ads, Competitive Ads, Ad actuals, new items and gross profits will be reviewed.
· Analyze market sales trends and data within Frozen Grocery categories.
· Maintain item assortment – coordinate and approve acceptance of new items, manage accurate item and cost files within SAP, and discontinue items when necessary.
· Manage and maintain vendor EDI billings and errors.
· Maintain target gross profit margins by category and achieve quarterly GPM objectives.
· Review category price checks to guarantee the “right price” on the shelf.
· Be available to store owners and members to hear their feedback and opinions of store level operations as well as resolve any issues and questions they have.
· Meet with vendors and sales reps to conduct business reviews, including positive and negative trends that have taken place FYTD.
· Perform contract renewals and negotiations as necessary.
· Assist the Director in any additional operations necessary for the department.
Qualifications:
o EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Marketing
o SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· 5-7 years in manufacturing and/or retail industries. Familiarity in the supermarket industry is a plus. Sales experience is a plus.
· Ability to interpret data and transfer into selling opportunities.
· Excellent analytic, communication & presentation skills
· Excellent Power Point and Excel skills.
· Familiar with shelf management software and techniques.
· Previous experience with merchandising systems is a plus.
