Key Process Partners is a consulting company based in Howard County, Maryland that helps businesses nationwide with their processes--supporting them in reaching their growth and profitability goals. We are looking for accountants to join our team to help our clients improve their accounting experience and their accounting and finance procedures! We primarily provide managerial accounting and do not offer compliance services at this time (tax preparation, audit, etc.). Most of our clients are for-profit, private/family-owned businesses.

This is a part-time, permanent role that is ideal for someone who is looking to work 10-20 hours a week. The work schedule is extremely flexible and you can choose your own work hours. This job is 100% remote; no in-person work is required. All business is conducted via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, OneDrive, SharePoint etc.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of related work experience (typically in a corporate accounting department) and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Salary range is $40-$50 an hour, and is based on your work experience relevant to the role.

*Job duties will include:

· Recording and reviewing financial transactions on an accrual basis (journal entries, etc.) (5 hours a week)
· Matching transactions in QuickBooks Online (5 hours a week)
· Review and/or enter bills in Bill.com (2 hours a week)
· Completing Reconciliations, including payroll and payroll taxes, benefits (e.g. health insurance, 401k contributions), accounts receivable (invoices, payments, etc.), bank accounts, credit card accounts, prepaid insurance and other prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other balance sheet accounts (8 hours a month)
· Reviewing a month-end close checklist to confirm everything has been completed and entered in the financial system (6 hours a month)
· Review monthly financial statements and complete variance analyses to help clients identify areas of opportunity for improved profitability (4 hours a month)
· Recording journal entries such as payroll entries, reclass entries, recurring journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expense amortization (4 hours a month)
· Process payroll for multiple companies ranging between 5 employees and 50 employees (4 hours a month)
· Reviewing bank statements and credit card statements to confirm all transactions have been entered; enter any missing transactions (2 hours a month)
· Create and monitor cash flow projections for clients (2 hours a month)
· Review transactions in Divvy (purchasing card platform) to confirm all transactions are coded properly (1 hour a month)
· Oversee the updating of previously-recorded transactions in financial software to record pertinent information such as vendor, description, line of business, etc. (as needed when new clients are onboarded)
· Create financial manuals for new clients, including reference guides for the Chart of Accounts, recurring vendors, recurring transactions, capitalization policies, documented procedures, etc. (as needed when new clients are onboarded)

*About you:

The ideal candidate is very organized, thorough, detail-oriented, and meticulous. You are a self-starter, able to keep track of what needs to be done and when, in order to meet deadlines. You are a good problem-solver and resourceful. You enjoy creating and improving Excel worksheets and workpapers. You like coming up with new ideas to improve, rather than maintain, the status quo.
You are able to work some core hours (flexible but most likely between the hours of 9am and 5pm Eastern Time on weekdays), but have autonomy to work during the hours that suit your lifestyle best.

There is no specific accounting background required, as having a diverse talent team is very helpful! Your experience may be with:

-A for-profit business, non-profit company, or government entity
-A small, medium, or large business or company
-A publicly-held or privately-held company; sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, private equity, etc.
-A service business, a manufacturer, etc.
