This position is with Keysight’s Semiconductor Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) organization. We are a world leader in the design and manufacturing of laser interferometry systems, precision optical components, complex monolithic optics (CMOs), and advanced electronic measurement solutions. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the optics fabrication area. The selected candidate will have opportunities to create processes and tools for new technologies, transform concepts and strategies into manufacturing processes, and make key technical decisions to drive manufacturing initiatives to achieve customer success.
As an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will help define, develop, test, and launch solutions for our next generation metrology product family. You will work alongside managers, engineers and technicians producing lasers, polarizing optics, fiber optics, precision mechanics, and electronics products. Experience with optics, lasers, or similar components is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the SIS R&D team to introduce new products. This includes transitioning the products to production from R&D and developing processes for fabricating optical components. Ensure the release of new products and processes are supported with controlled documents.
- After the release of NPI into production this position is responsible for managing the Santa Clara SIS manufacturing engineering team in supporting the production team in the fabrication area to meet business goals related to revenue, gross margin, quality, deliveries, and cost. This also involves working with support teams such as procurement, logistics, quality, and planning. Key driver for all actions is to complete tasks on a timely basis.
- Continuous manufacturing improvement involving tools such as Kaizen, FMEA, control charts, and general good manufacturing practices.
- Initiate cost saving opportunities for both direct and indirect materials.
- Select, develop and evaluate direct report employees to ensure strong team performance.
Essential Job Qualifications
- Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent plus 10 years of relevant experience as a manager
- Experience in managing manufacturing engineering team in production environment to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals
- Demonstrated strong management and leadership skills in implementing program/organization strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience in optics fabrication, manufacturing, and cleanroom processes
- This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Job Qualifications:
- Knowledge of optics manufacturing processes preferred
- Willing to be flexible to work with global cross-functional teams
- Basic manufacturing financial experience will be an advantage
