Job Description
Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the project Foreman/Superintendent, the Glazier assists in the installation of glass in windows, skylights, store fronts, and display cases, or on surfaces, such as building fronts, interior walls, ceiling, and tabletops. The person in this role directly impacts the client’s satisfaction with the company’s service performance final product. Serving multiple internal and external stakeholders on job sites of various types, the highly functioning Glazier will have a general knowledge of the construction industry, be adept at use of basic hand tools, and will be eager to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to be promoted into a Glazier I position.

Essential Functions
- Understand basic construction principals that are sufficient to:
- Use basic construction tools and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications
- Cut, fit, install, repair or replace glass or glass substitutes, in building interiors and exteriors
- Set glass doors into frames and attach doors to frames and walls
- Install pre-assembled frameworks for windows or doors to be fitted with glass panels
- Troubleshoot installation problems
- Load, arrange, and unload glass, mirrors, or other materials on to delivery trucks using suction cups or cranes
- Communicate with project managers, supervisors, and other staff regarding work progress
- Keep job sites clean and organized
- Maintain good relationships with staff

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, plus overtime
Training hours are slightly different for the first 4 weeks of work. Everything is one hour earlier than the regular schedule above.
Physical Demands

Minimum Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One-year of work experience in a similar function
- Insurable driving record
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in construction, manufacturing, or other similar field
- Forklift certificate and/or experience
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in closed commercial construction sites, active commercial businesses, as well manufacturing production and warehouse environments. This role routinely operates commercial grade equipment.
