Summary
The Quality Specialist assists in the overall management of QHSE functions within the organization. This role helps create and implement processes to support adherence to standards and safety guidelines by all employees. This role performs product inspection to verify conformance to drawing and process specifications, including but not limited to receiving, first articles, in-process, and final inspections.
Principal Activities
- Inspect product to verify compliance with the requirements of the work order, applicable specifications, and the KF Valves quality management system in accordance with all licensing and customer requirements (i.e. API, ISO, PED, CSA, etc.)
- Review drawings in order to ascertain product dimensions and determine the appropriate tools for process checks, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Assist with generating customer documentation packages as required. Prepare declaration of conformance markings as required by licensor and customer requirements (i.e. PED, etc.)
- Assist in the creation of internal procedures and process control documents in order to support the KF Valves quality management system.
- Lead the KFV calibration process by coordinating with vendors for outsourced calibration requirements, monitoring upcoming and past due instrument recalls, and reviewing calibration certifications for accuracy and conformance to stated requirements.
- This position may need to perform calibrations as assigned for instruments for which the facility has the capability to calibrate in-house.
- Ensure all documentation scanning/indexing tasks are maintained and kept up to date (i.e. material test reports, work order documents, inspection records, claim reports, etc.)
- Investigate customer claims and warranty issues in a timely manner. Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers as needed.
- Assist in developing and tracking quality/safety metrics and documenting new problem-solving approaches identified during quality analysis activities.
- Interface with customer third-party source inspectors, including the preparation of Value Certification Packages for internal and external customers.
- Interface with suppliers for evaluation and qualification to the KF Valves approved vendor list. Liaison with suppliers to assure receipt of acceptable material test reports and resolve outstanding issues, as assigned.
- Review outsourced processes for compliance to process codes as assigned.
- Work within RMA approvals and guidelines. Inspect product prior to restock.
- Verify material test reports with engineering specifications for acceptance as required.
- Lead the NMR (nonconforming product) handling process and analyze data for trends in order to drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to administrative tasks, analysis of data, training and corrective/preventive action investigations.

Education & Experience
· Minimum high school diploma
· Minimum of four (4) years of related experience in quality assurance, inspection, OR equivalent combination of education and experience within different disciplines, functions, and/or business.
· Any additional training or certification will be considered an advantage.
· Knowledge of ball valves, calibration, hand gauges, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), strongly preferred
