CMM Programmer/Operator
Shift timings: 8 am - 4:30 pm (M-F, some Saturdays), to have coverage on both shifts
POSITION SUMMARY:
Inspect machined parts for quality and defects to ensure that parts meet print specifications and customer requirements. This requires programming and operation of Browne & Sharpe CMM equipment, operating with PC-DMIS software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect and document machined parts for quality and compliance to print specifications
- Advise Group Leader or Supervisor of any discrepancies
- Develop CMM programs when required for new product, drawing revisions.
- Run part programs through the CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) and interpret CMM output.
- Responsible for the safe use of inspection tools and equipment
- Collect and record inspections for in-process parts
- Conduct visual inspections for burrs, sharp edges, and flaws
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- An understanding of GD&T, Metrology and SPC
- 3 years on-the-job training as an inspector
- Computer knowledge
- Able to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to use CMM’s and other various equipment
- Ability to program CMM using PC-DMIS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Single lifts of up to 25 lbs
- Sitting/Standing for the full shift (except for breaks and lunch)

- Two handed dexterity for computer use

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Office Space – Climate controlled
- Industrial Space– Fans provided in summertime, but not climate controlled. Heat provided in wintertime, but facility still subject to temperature variation.
- Noisy work environment: ear plugs are available throughout facility for everyone.
- Smoke/haze due to machines operating, have floor fans and smog hogs throughout facility.
- Safety glasses are required in the shop
- Steel-toed (or equivalent) protective footwear required in manufacturing areas.

- Stop performing any work that is not in compliance with all product and quality system requirements until the non- compliance is resolved.
- Take any actions necessary to meet customer requirements as long as such actions do not violate the company’s quality system or Employee Manual requirements
- Ability to use a computer proficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with 3rd party suppliers
- Experience with Maintenance Coordinator ACC a plus
- Experience with another Computerized Maintenance Management System a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
