The DSP floater (DSP/F) is responsible for covering open shifts to meet the agency's needs in our supported living and community living departments in the Bangor to Howland areas. This position is considered by KFI to be an elevated DSP position as the person will need more internal training regarding the people they support. The DSP/F position is a full-time benefits enabled position. The schedule is 30 hours a week with two designated days off usually together. It should be expected that at least one of the days will be a weekend day and we are open to discussion if the candidate prefers two days nonconsecutive. The floater can work up to 40 hours a week and any potential overtime hours will need to be approved by a Support Coordinator before being accepted by the DSP/F. In any given week that the DSP/F is short on hours, the supervisor may assign other duties, to the DSP/F for the agency (i.e., additional training, work supports, aiding the administrative assistant, or other appropriate tasks). The DSP/F will need to maintain an active telephone that can receive calls, texts, and voicemail messages. The DSP/F will be flexible and reliable when called to duty and respond to phone calls and messages within 15 minutes or less.
