Backend Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Burbank, CA that is seeking a Backend Java Developer to work a remote role on the West Coast.

Responsibilities:
* Independently design, build, test, and support a high-performance, scalable, and innovative CMS powering our cross-platform streaming service
* Develop back-end APIs, implement system instrumentation, and provide documentation
* Work closely with other engineers and product management teams to meet fixed deadlines
* Work in all phases of a rapid product development life-cycle

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Computer Science, or similar experience (BA/BS not required, open to candidates with commensurate experience)
* 4 years of backend web development experience
* No industry experience required
* Experience working with CMS, focus on live and video streaming
* Java, PHP, PostgreSQL experience
* Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design, data structures, and algorithms
* Experience working with source control systems; Git preferred
* Knowledge of open-source software
* Experience with web development best practices
* Knowledge of modern CMS systems and trends
* Clearly articulates thoughts and ideas verbally and/or in writing
* Experience with web applications and back end api's

Nice to Have:
* git preferred
* Experience with Java Spring Boot
* Experience with NextJS
* Experience with NoSQL concepts
* Experience with Lucene/SOLR
* Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, etc.)
* Will consider 50/50 front end and back end, but for this role we are primarily back end focused

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
