Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client is seeking to hire an IDS/IPS Administrator in Anchorage, Alaska (AK).
Responsibilities include:
* Maintains an infrastructure of intrusion detection, Intrusion prevention, and network traffic analysis sensors located in multiple locations
* Initiates and oversees the creation, deployment, and tuning of Snort and custom IPS/IDS signatures
* Makes recommendations to improve overall security posture to senior management
* IDS/IPS Administrator creates and customizes Snort connectors to maintain the collection and redirection of syslog, HBSS, scanning and other appliance logs from enterprise networks to central manager
* Troubleshoots physically cabled network connections, network routing protocols, media converters, hardware, and various vendor specific tools
* Review and respond to log events and alerts raised by SIEM, IDS/HIDS/IPS, EDR, MDM, firewall, network monitoring and sensors, and related cybersecurity systems and toolsets, investigate and prioritize, remediate, or escalate to incident response as necessary, and document outcomes
* IDS/IPS Administrator will maintain continuous awareness of threat environment along with defensive best practices, conduct continuous risk analysis to identify, prioritize specific threats and vulnerabilities, and maintain technical risk register
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree
* 5 years of prior IT experience
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to manage multiple timelines with varying due dates
* Ability to multitask
* Ability to present technical information to audiences of varying technical knowledge
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
