Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: A client with Kforce is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team remotely.
Summary: This is a senior-level position, 7 years of experience is preferred. This role will be fully remote, but the contractor must work EST hours. The Hiring Manager will mostly be looking for the number of years of experience and type of experience working with the HCL Commerce product suite and/or SAP Customer experience (Hybris Commerce) Software Solutions and experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and DB2. The team consists of 3 Junior Developers that do not have Java-based knowledge experience, so the Lead Software Engineer will be working with them on those skills as well. The team has been together for a number of years, so they are tight-knit.
Design and Develop: * CouchDB Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain high-availability and scalable CouchDB infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of database clusters across multiple environments * Deployment Automation: Design and implement automated deployment pipelines for CouchDB-based applications, leveraging industry best practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Ansible
Observability and Sustainment: * Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Develop and implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, optimize CouchDB clusters, and ensure efficient resource utilization; Continuously monitor system health, availability, and capacity planning * Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop robust backup and disaster recovery strategies for CouchDB databases, ensuring data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or data corruption
REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a related field is required * 7 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on CouchDB and NoSQL databases * Proficiency in managing and administering CouchDB clusters in production environments * Solid understanding of distributed systems, high-availability architectures, and disaster recovery strategies * Experience with deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, or similar * Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking concepts, and security principles * Proven experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Nagios, Prometheus, or ELK stack * Familiarity with scripting and programming languages, such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript * Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
