Principal Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a fully remote Principal Engineer to join their team.

Summary:
In this role, the Principle Engineer will be apart of the design and architecture of apps that impact the customer through customer loyalty, customer record and customer communication along with other spaces. The apps are built fully on java, springboot, Cassandra and hosted in Google Cloud Platform (some have other tech thrown in such as Go, Node, python, React etc.) utilizing CI/CD pipelines, strong security/networking, TDD approach, and cloud etc.

This Principal Engineer will be 80% dedicated to design and architecture (focused on diagrams, how and why to use which technology, give opinions to the team on what needs to be restructured, explaining to leadership about security protocols, networking, total output along with other duties). They will be hands on coding less than 10% of the time, but need to have strong knowledge/design experience in java (API's and how to secure them), springboot, data structures, databases (Cassandra preferred), and strong experience in cloud (Google Cloud Platform preferred but AWS is fine). They are really looking for someone who can support teams at a high level with a purpose and deep understanding of how to do it and why.

Security is also a huge focus so need to understand the purpose of single sign on, trust certificates, network security etc. Lastly, the Engineer will be a mentor to several teams by helping with trainings, implementing new technology, methods to adhere too and giving opinions on work being done.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 10 years of experience (ideally experience at a principal level)
* Strong design/architecture experience with systems built on Java
* Experienced in springboot
* Strong cloud knowledge (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
* Experienced in databases (Cassandra preferred; Minimum need document databases)
* Ability to mentor others, present to stakeholders, and collaborate with multiple teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
