The Business Development Manager will work with the Leadership Team to take new or evolving services/products from concept through to market introduction and play an ongoing role in sales.  This role does not include a sales commission structure, but rather is focused on bringing strategic initiatives into revenue generating positions for KGA.  This role will contribute to the marketing and sales of KGA’s core employee assistance services. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

In collaboration with KGA leadership, in alignment with KGA’s brand and values, perform actives such as:

 

Product / Service development:

  • Drive the concept design and development plan for new and evolving services. 
  • Collaborate with KGA teams (operations, technology, marketing, etc.) to gather input and lead the execution of new products and services.
  • Contribute to and drive the process of developing the sales and marketing approach and materials for new and evolving services.  This will take into consideration KGA’s different market audiences (e.g., existing clients, prospective buyers, broker/consultants, etc.). 
  • Conduct and participate in market research/analysis to identify:
    • Emerging customer and/or product trends 
    • New or evolving customer segments 
    • Capabilities and strategies of competitors
    • Optimal revenue models, sales channels and product/service development strategies.  


New Business Development and Implementation:

  • Engage with prospective buyers and their representatives (brokers) and other professional associations.  
  • Participate in and/or drive sales meetings.  
  • Transition new clients from the sales process through implementation.  
  • Responding to RFPs from initial request to submission, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Represent KGA at promotional opportunities and events held by associations, partner organizations, etc.


Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Strong curiosity about the:
    • Employee mental health and wellness industry.
    • Development and evolution of services/products related to employee assistance services.  
  • Project management skills – driving multidimension initiatives in collaboration with cross functional teams.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong public speaking or presentation skills. 
  • Experience with core marketing concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in client management is a plus.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product/service development, business development, sales, marketing or related roles. 
  • Experience employee wellbeing or mental health field a plus.
