Are you a compassionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual with a calling to provide direct care to terminally ill patients and their families? Our hospice organization is seeking a Hospice Aide to join our interdisciplinary team, assisting our patients with daily living activities and providing personal care in their homes or care facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Provide basic light housekeeping and laundry services to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for patients
- Work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary hospice team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Observe and report any changes in the patient's condition to the hospice nurse or case manager
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during this difficult time
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State-certified nursing assistant (CNA) or home health aide (HHA) license, where required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospice, home health, or long-term care setting
- Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated empathy and ability to connect with patients and their families
