Description
KHS America is a musical instruments distributor managing more than 20 musical instrument brands.

Essential functions and responsibilities:
• Interpret KHSA order documents to properly pack and ship orders correctly and timely to our customers
• Perform all computer functions necessary for job assignment; complete necessary paperwork
• Perform basic math when estimating weight and calculating the cost of shipping
• Responsible for making arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order
• Keep and maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials at all times
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
• Must be able to operate the most common material handling equipment (hand trucks)
• Operate the stretch wrap bander to palletize goods that are to be shipped; move the completed pallet, by forklift, into the waiting trailer (freight desk assignment)
• Maintain regular job attendance; regular work schedule is Monday—Friday; 8-hour shifts; additional time may be needed to accomplish Company’s customer service requirements

• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

• Physical demands: While performing the duties of the job, incumbent is required to talk and hear; stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch on a concrete floor; minimal sitting; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment: Warehouse which is not temperature controlled resulting in extreme heat or cold based on outside temperatures; exposed to dust, odors, fumes, oils; the noise level is usually moderate.
Requirements
• High school diploma or state-approved high school equivalency diploma
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly; ability to communicate to make others understand
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Basic computer skills
• Minimum of one year successful work experience
