What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer position at KI?
KI is hiring an Interior Designer to join our New England sales team. This full-time position will work from our Boston showroom, but we offer flexibility if you choose to work from your home office several days each week.
In this position, you will work closely with our Sales Specialists, dealers and customers to create functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces while adhering to relevant blueprint, building code, and inspection requirements. You will provide direct support in CAD/CET, space planning, quoting, finish recommendations and project qualification. At times, you may participate in customer presentations and will effectively be persuasive in communicating design ideas. Additionally, a portion of your time may be spent providing pre-sales and/or post-sales support including customer experience functions.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Create attractive designs and layouts for various projects
- Meet with client in order to understand the client’s objectives and desires
- Communicate effectively with client, vendors and team in order to address client’s needs
- Prepare presentations for clients
- Create quotes for clients and ensure full workflow is followed
- Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Design, Interior Design or a related field. Some previous commercial furniture design experience is desired. Strong AutoCAD and CET Skills recommended, (Training for proficiency on CET is available).
The targeted salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000 but could differentiate from this scale based on the candidate's skillset, years of experience, education and geographic location.
